All games on Steam have been updated to bring them in line with the website versions of the past few days.

All games on this website for Windows and Mac (demo and full) have been updated to their latest versions.

The updates for Mac ensure compatibility with macOS 12 Monterey, and also fix a sound issue (namely, no sound at all) under certain circumstances.

As a reminder, Linux games have been recently discontinued and hence are not included in this update.

After much deliberation, and with a heavy heart, we have discontinued all Linux games due to insufficient market interest and increasing maintenance costs.

You can still download their final released versions, but as of November 2021 they are unsupported and will no longer be updated.

If you are using Steam, don't forget that you can still enjoy the games using Proton!

All games on the Mac store have been updated. The updates ensure compatibility with macOS 12 Monterey, and also fix a sound issue (namely, no sound at all) under certain circumstances.

All of our Android games are temporarily unavailable, because Google unilaterally and unfairly decided to terminate our account. We have appealed this decision, but it could be several days or weeks until the issue is resolved. We'll post any developments here.

UPDATE: Google has rejected our appeal, so the games have been permanently removed.

Chicken Invaders Universe is the latest and greatest installment in the Chicken Invaders saga. It’s not part of the regular sequentially numbered episodes that have been release thus far – think of it as more of a spin-off taking place in the same… well… universe. We may or may not return to our regular episode numbering after this.

Chicken Invaders Universe combines the frantic chicken-fighting action that you know and love from previous episodes with a meta-layer that expands the experience beyond anything you’ve encountered before. You take on the role of a new recruit fresh out of Heroes Academy, joining the ranks of the United Hero Force (UHF) to fight against the fowl Henpire forces. Your adventure takes place in a persistent galaxy in which you see and interact with other players in real time, as well as other galaxy inhabitants (NPCs). Epic.

The game has been under intensive development for four years now. A little over two years ago, it saw a discreet release as Early Access (meaning "fully playable, but not 100% complete yet"). A vibrant and passionate community quickly formed around it, which has actively shaped the game ever since. The community has done such a wonderful job that we now feel the game is ready to be revealed to a wider audience, and to delight newcomers and veterans alike.

We've just released an update for all our Mac games that improves compatibility under macOS 10.15 Catalina. Specifically, the following versions have been updated:

- Mac games found on this site
- Mac games on Steam
- Mac games found on Apple's Mac Store (these particular updates aren't live yet, but we expect them to be by the new year)

We've just released a comprehensive update for all of our Android games. The updates are built with the latest version of Android tools, and correct the crashes that the October updates introduced on some devices. Other highlights include 64-bit native libraries, an overhauled purchasing system, and Android 10 support. On the flipside, you'll need at least Android 5.0+ (this can't be helped -- it was dictated by Google's requirements).

We've just issued a cumulative Steam update for Chicken Invaders 2, 3, 4, and 5 and all their editions and platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux).

This updates the games to their latest available version with improvements, bug fixes, and compatibility tweaks. The changes are too many to list -- some main points are: Fixed Chicken Invaders 3 cross-platform savegame incompatibility, fixed Chicken Invaders 3 visual glitches, macOS builds are now 64-bit and use SDL2, new Steamworks SDK is used.

The matchmaking servers for CI3, CI4, and CI5 are now working again.

The move of the InterAction studios website to the new servers has been completed, but there are currently issues with the matchmaking servers for CI3, CI4, and CI5. This means you won't be able to play internet multiplayer games for the next couple of days. Hang in there, we're working on getting them back on-line as quickly as possible.

The InterAction studios website will be moving to a new server over the next few days (13-14-15 March 2019). Services might intermittently become unavailable. If something isn't working properly, please try again in a few hours.

PayPal currently has a issue whereby you won't be automatically returned to our website after making a payment. PayPal is aware of this and they're working on a solution. In the meantime, if you wish to play through PayPal, e-mail us after paying and we'll send you your authorization code manually.

This only affects PayPal, other payment methods work fine.

Chicken Invaders Recruit 35 (a.k.a. Ben Curtis) has created these amazing 3D-printed models of the hero's spaceship. He's even gone ahead and tweaked the design to reduce the spacedynamic drag on the tail wing. Now that's exactly the kind of initiative we expect if humanity is going to succesfully repel the impending chicken invasion. And, trust us, it IS coming!

We've just realized that our last Chicken Invaders 2 update was not properly served by our website. This means that you still got the older version, which was lacking the option to select between the original and the remastered music (this only affected the registered version, the demo works fine).

We have corrected the issue now, so you can log in using your existing authorization code to download the update!

We've just issued a long-standing update to the registered version of Smileyville (v1.37). If you're registered, log in and download it!

There was a problem in our recent Android update that prevented correct unlocking of particular games. Affected Android games are: Chicken Invaders 3 Easter, Chicken Invaders 3 Easter HD, Chicken Invaders 4 Easter, Chicken Invaders 4 Easter HD, Chicken Invaders 4 Thanksgiving, Chicken Invaders 4 Thanksgiving HD.

We have now fixed this — update your game and you should be good to go!

'tis the season to be jolly, cluck-cluck-cluck-cluck-cluck, cluck-cluck, cluck-CLUUUUUUCK! Chicken Invaders 5 Christmas Edition is now officially available for Windows/Mac/Linux/iOS/Android/Windows Phone/Steam!

Chicken Invaders 5 Christmas Edition has been updated with new music and some minor graphical improvements. Registered users can use their given authorization code to log in and download the update (Windows only).

And now for something a little bit different! As you might already know (or suspect), the Christmas Edition of Chicken Invaders 5 is coming this December. What you definitely don't know, however, is that we have a special treat for all users who have registered Chicken Invaders 5 : if you've purchased the Chicken Invaders 5 pack directly from this website, then you can simply use your given authorization code to log in and download the Christmas Edition right now!

Go right ahead and try it out (you'll need a Windows operating system -- Mac and Linux versions are coming soon) and don't forget to tell us what you think. We'll be incorporating your ideas and improving it right until December!

There is a bug in the Chicken Invaders 3 (v1.19) and Chicken Invaders 4 (v1.15) updates for Android we released last week which will prevent your progress from being upgraded correctly (that is, your progress will be reset to zero). We have now released updates to correct this issue.

The new updates are Chicken Invaders 3 v1.20 and Chicken Invaders 4 v1.16. You can check which version you have by selecting Options -> Credits at the game's main menu.

Please allow a few hours for these updates to propagate around the world and then make sure you apply them as soon as possible, because any progress you make with the old v1.19 and v1.15 will be ignored.

This issue only affects Android. Windows, Mac, Linux are unaffected.

We have recently released a sweeping update to all of our games on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android. The most important visible differences are the option to switch between classic (chiptune) and remastered (orchestral) music for Chicken Invaders 2, spaceship colorization in multiplayer games for Chicken Invaders 4, and the addition of Dutch and Portuguese translations for Chicken Invaders 5. The update breaks network compatibility for Chicken Invaders 3 & 4, so you'll need it to play multiplayer games. There is additionally a multitude of small technical fixes that nobody will ever care about so we won't even mention them!

To celebrate the occasion, we've added some exclusive features: unified analogue & D-pad support, mouse button reassignment, and the ability to choose between the original (chiptune) and remastered (orchestral) music.

As you might already know, Chicken Invaders 1 (and Island Wars 1) run very slowly under Windows 8, 8.1 and 10. This is because starting with Windows 8, the DirectDraw portion of DirectX 7.0 is software emulated, meaning that it's very slow. This is a limitation of Windows and there's nothing that the game itself can do to fix it.

Nevertheless, Zerosan has reported to us that you can use the dgVoodoo2 DirectX wrapper to make the game work correctly under Windows 8+, so you might want to give it a shot. Note that InterAction studios is not affiliated with the maker of dgVoodoo2 and no technical support can be provided. Your mileage may vary.

There is a bug that will cause the Halloween Edition of Chicken Invaders 5 to crash on wave 27. It only affects SD versions on Android and iOS. We have already released a fix for Android (available now) and iOS (available after Apple approves it in a few days). Until this happens, we have removed the game from the iOS store to avoid confusion. Sorry about the mix-up!

The Halloween Edition of Chicken Invaders 5 is now available for download! Windows, Mac, Linux, Steam, Android, and iPhone versions are available immediately. iPad, Windows Phone, and Windows Store versions are currently waiting for validation and will be released as soon as they are approved.

Today we are releasing the largest update since...,well, our last large update. We're kicking it off with updates to practically all our games for PC, Mac, and Linux. Everything has been improved to a greater or lesser extent, but highlights include:

• Chicken Invaders 3 is now widescreen by default.
• Chicken Invaders 3 and Chicken Invaders 4 now have HD graphics (2x resolution)!
• Analogue joystick support for Chicken Invaders 3, Chicken Invaders 4 & Chicken Invaders 5.

Note: The Chicken Invaders 3 update breaks network compatibility, so you must upgrade in order to play multi-player network games.

There is a bug in Windows 10 which will make the "Windows 8 Store" versions of the games ("app" versions) unplayable if your desktop resolution is less than 1280x960. The specific issue is that the game image will not be properly centered and will spill outside your screen.

This is not a bug within the games themselves, it's a Windows 10 problem. You can try get the regular Windows versions which work fine, or you can wait for Microsoft to provide a fix (which could be a very long time, given their unresponsiveness and unwillingness to support Windows 8.0/8.1 apps).

Chicken Invaders 5 has been updated to version 5.05. The Spanish translation has been added (many thanks to Alfredo Alcaide) and the Russian translation has been improved (courtesy of Ilia Piven). It's fully backwards compatible with previous versions, so upgrading is completely optional.

Today we released a small update for Chicken Invaders 2. This fixes a very rare bug with the spaceship jumping around under mouse control. You only need to download the update if your system is affected.

We recently released some iOS updates for Chicken Invaders 3 and Chicken Invaders 4 that sadly will not upgrade your career progress correctly. If you updated your game recently, then you will notice that your progress has been reset. We have sent a fix to Apple and we expect it to be accepted within 7-10 days.

In the meantime, rest assured that your progress IS NOT LOST. You will get it back when the next update becomes live. Thanks for your patience!

However, this update is fully backwards compatible with previous versions, so you don't need to update if you don't care about the new features.

Today we released a small update for Chicken Invaders 5. The biggest change is the addition of the first of our translations in Polish, courtesy of the awesome Maciej! Minor changes include fixing an issue with the "start with a single life" unlockable, and making each spaceship unique in "fly with a wingman" games. You'll also need this update if you're planning to play multiplayer games over the Internet, so get cracking!

This update only applies to versions found directly on this website. Other versions are not affected.

The update that fixes the iPhone crash on Wave 80 Ice Boss is now live on the App Store!

There's a known problem with the Ice Boss that will cause iPhone versions of the game to crash (iPads are not affected). An update which fixes this has already been submitted to Apple, and it should be available in a few days.

We're currently trying to make Chicken Invaders 5 available on Valve's Steam service, but we need your help to get the project "greenlit". If you use Steam and would like to see the game available on it, please vote for it here!

We've been working hard to prepare the new remastered HQ2X edition of Chicken Invaders 4 for Steam, and we're pleased to announce it is done! It has already been approved by Valve and is ready to be released tomorrow!

Chicken Invaders 4 has been Greenlight'ed and accepted for release on Steam. First of all, huge thanks to everyone who supported the game and voted for it on Steam! We think you'll love the special version we're preparing: We have already begun remastering all graphics in twice the original resolution and are currently looking into integrating the Steamworks SDK. InterAction studios announces today the immediate availability of the Thanksgiving Edition of "Ultimate Omelette", the latest episode in its flagship Chicken Invaders series of games appropriate for all ages. Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone platforms are all supported.

The Thanksgiving Edition revolves around humanity's fight to regain control of Thanksgiving dinner against the rebellious turkeys and their army of allied intergalactic brethren. Major characters have been redesigned to incorporate traditional Thanksgiving elements: turkeys, pumpkins, pilgrim hats, etc. The player's intergalactic journey is also accentuated by unique fantastic scenarios, such as navigating through a field of gigantic floating feathers, or dodging molten planet chunks during a supernova explosion.

We recently identified an issue with all Mac games under Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks, whereby the app would fail to launch if installed directly in the /Applications folder. This has now been corrected, so if you're affected you should log in and download the latest updates.

Note: There is no version change in this update. To avoid confusion, please first remove all installed versions from your computer.

Mac OS X 10.9 "Mavericks" has been recently introduced. Although all current versions of games will work under 10.9 without any problems, certain older versions will not. If you upgrade to 10.9 but find that your games no longer work properly, simply download the latest upgrades from our website.

Note that if you've purchased the games from the Mac store, then some updates are still being processed and hence not available yet. If that is the case for your game, give it a few days and try again!

Chicken Invaders 4 (Standard Edition) is now available in Windows Phone 8 (go here) and Windows 8 Store (go here) formats. Enough said!

We have issued updates for all Android versions of Chicken Invaders 3. The updates correct an important gameplay issue (namely, incorrect asteroid placement on all asteroid waves). In most cases you won't need to do anything special, as your store app (Google Play or Amazon Store) will detect an updated version is available and notify you accordingly.

We have just begun offering our games in Windows 8 App format. The first game in our line-up is Chicken Invaders 3 (available now), and the rest of the games will follow shortly. An up-to-date list of games available on the Windows 8 Store can be found here.

Note that you should only download these versions if you specifically need our games in Windows 8 App format. Otherwise, we recommend you get the regular Windows versions instead, as they work just fine in Windows 8 and also come with a lot of extra goodies!

*Note: Over the past few weeks, there have been several pre-release versions, all labelled v4.16. At the game's main menu, select "Credits". The version number at the bottom-right should be v4.16.r. If you are having problems with your game and you don't have this latest official release, simply log into your account and download a fresh copy!

We're now ready to begin our upgrade. During the course of the upgrade, all ability to upload your scores and careers will be disabled, along with multiplayer games. Have no fear, though! Everything will gradually get back to normal, starting with our first update for Chicken Invaders 4 in a day or two.

There will also be brief periods of downtime for our website. If you find that pages don't work as expected (including registering), give it a couple of hours and try again!

We're preparing a major update to all of our games. This updates includes far-reaching changes to the internal structure of the games, which means that in most cases user data will not be upgradeable. The only supported upgrades will be:

• Chicken Invaders 3: Careers
• Chicken Invaders 4: Careers
• Piggly: Level map progress

Even in these cases, data will be upgradeable ONLY from the most recent version of the games (and not any previous versions). If you want to preserve your user data through this upgrade, you need to make sure you're using the current version of the games. Log into your account and check for any updates that you haven't downloaded yet.

Note that no high scores will be preserved and the high score tables will most likely be reset, so make sure you upload your scores while there's still time for the world to see.

More detailed information will become available when the upgrade is rolled out.

We've just corrected an issue with uploading of Island Wars 2 high scores. If your scores were rejected as corrupt before, give it another try!

We have updated all our Mac OS X games so you can now use your gamepad/joystick in them. This was actually a recently introduced problem related to sandboxing (there is no change in the games themselves).

Incidentally, if you're upgrading from a non-sandboxed to a sandboxed version of Chicken Invaders 3 or 4 and wish to preserve your user data, make sure you read the relevant instructions in the "Upgrade help" document in our support section.
